Totally Moved

I don't know why (actually I do, it's probably PMS!), but I have been SO emotionally moved (sometimes to tears!) today. For instance:

- Sitting in bean bag chairs watching a movie with my son (Cody) this afternoon, and he grabs my face and says, "Mommy, you're pretty." (And here come the tears AGAIN!)

- Loading dishes into my dishwasher and seeing 4 beautiful (actually, one of them looked a little messed up, like maybe he was molting - do hummingbirds molt? Note to self: Google molting hummingbirds) hummingbirds at my bird feeder! Those of you bird watchers out there know how special this is!

- Driving along in the car this evening (by myself - which is totally glorious and moving in its own right!) listening to the radio and this song comes on. LOOOOVE this song.

- Reading on Facebook statuses that my friends' kids are starting kindergarten and realizing that my oldest (Cody again) will be in the same spot next year!

- Seeing my husband's state championship baseball ring, and feeling so proud of him for being so incredibly talented and using those talents to both glorify God and impact the lives of young men.

While I'm off to find some chocolate (and maybe a potato chip or two...hello PMS!), tell me, what's moving you lately?

  1. First of all, your post moved me. You see, my son is Cody, too. He's 13 now, though, and driving me absolutely bonkers! As I read this post, I pictured him when he was four or five, and I got all teary-eyed. Thanks for giving me the moment!

  2. Hi, Beth! I'm so happy you stopped by my blog and said hello and that you're enjoying this week's posts.

Gotta love female emotionalism! Do you ever have those days when it takes you like the whole day to finally recognize it's probably PMS, when your husband looks at you and says, "Well, I could have told you that yesterday."

I can't wait to learn more about you. Thanks again for stopping by.

  3. Okay, we really need to stop. Our circadian rhythms are even aligned. Can we say PMS in this house, too? :D

  4. I'm moved by quite a few blogs I've been reading this morning, including yours. I love how you appreciate the tiniest moments. Good grief I have tears now, too. I will have no more kindergarteners. My youngest are going into the third grade.
