Grab A Cupcake and Weigh In...With Your Opinion, That Is

It's National Cupcake Day!

I love when they give special days to the most random things, like National Talk Like A Pirate Day. If I knew all of your addresses I would send you each a dozen of these, my favorite, RED VELVET cupcakes. Mmmm, can't you just taste the cream cheese frosting? (No, I don't know what my obsession is with sweets lately either. It COULD possibly be that since my husband is a teacher he brings home a boatload of homemade sweets almost daily during this time of year. I'm not complaining...at least I won't until I can't button my pants.)

Now watch how I tie this into writing. Ready?

What is your go-to food for snacking while writing? Mine is usually a bag of chips or something salty (of course, not as of late) and a GINORMOUS caffeinated beverage (preferably a Coke from McDonalds). Perhaps chocolate? A glass of wine? Both (nothing wrong with that at all!)? I always like to find out more about my readers and fellow writers!

Happy Writer Wednesday, everyone. Now go grab a snack and get back to work!

  1. Either balsamic vinegarette chips or chocolate. Funny how the two really don't go together.

  2. This will come as no surprise...nuts! ;)

Sending love this Wednesday that for some reason feels like a Friday. Ah, the sun is out. That's why.

  3. I used to do chocolate, but after gaining way too much weight I cut that out. Now I eat nothing when I'm writing. I've lost most of what I put on. Yippee.

  4. I drink lots and lots of coffee. I don't really snack when I'm writing. Maybe I should. No, never mind. I'd gain like 500 pounds!

  5. A Coke from McDonalds sounds wonderful! My favorite!

  6. I typically drink a lot of water -- and consequentially take frequent breaks... -- and eat gummy bears when I write. Now, this isn't my motivation for the water, but I read somewhere that it's important to help the brain with creativity.

I'm no doctor or physiologist, so I'm not sure how it works, but it sounded like a logical premise to me. :)

The gummy bears are just because they are delicious...

  7. instead of caffeine I take sugar, my muse gets really happy when I have a sack of pains au lait and a jar of nutella. I am trying to wean her off the sugar so we are having productivity issues.

  8. I don't eat a lot while writing. I do eat while reading, though. If I'm feeling esp healthy I'll do grapes or an apple. Otherwise, smoothies or ice cream. I made muffins last night, and even though muffins are only a cousin to cupcakes they had chocolate chips so they were ALMOST cupcakes. Who knew that I was nearly celebrating National Cupcake Day?

  9. I drink way too much caffeine while I write, but I try to resist too much snacking. I do like to have a handful of candy, though, like sour patch kids or twizzlers or red hots.

  10. Coffee. I consume way too much coffee. Foodwise? Popcorn.
